"Hey Chelle, I want to let you know what a fine time we all had checkin' out your show at La Pena last night. As a part-time New Orleans resident (I spend about 1/3 of the year down there and 2/3 in Oakland), and a long-time New Orleans music enthusiast (I've written a book, any number of magazine articles, and I had a long-running show on KPFA a couple of decades ago) I thought I was on top of all important manifestations of New Orleans funk in the Bay Area, but clearly I was wrong about that since I had never known about you before last night. I was really impressed with your set list; a great mix of popular tunes and NOLA obscurities.

Anyway, thanks again for a down-home funky time. Best live music I've heard in months."
